On March 24th of 2006, we lost a part of our Steps in Time family when she was taken from us by a drunk driver. Sheena came to Steps in Time in 1989 and was a very dedicated member of our resident dance company, Inner Rhythms, until she graduated in 1999. She was a member of our teaching staff for our pre-school class. Sheena was such a free-spirited and passionate young woman whose love for dance was unending. Sheena's family along with Steps in Time have set up a scholarship fund in her memory that will be granted to an Inner Rhythms member. This is our way of keeping Sheena's passion for dance alive.

We would like to congratulate, Kristi Smith, for being the first recipient of the Sheena Villa Memorial Scholarship Fund. Sheena was always a role model to Kristi! Kristi was honored to receive this award and used her scholarship money toward her endeavors in New York City. Kristi went to New York to attend New York University's Tisch School of the Arts where she graduated with a Major in Dance and Minor in Business. Kristi is still living in New York City where she is working and auditioning. Most recenlty, Kristi was seen making her off-broadway debut in Sgouros & Bell's "Phantom of the Opera", the musical.
